PhD Programme for Charity Sector Leaders
We are proud to announce an innovative PhD programme designed specifically for leaders within the local charity sector. This unique opportunity allows charity leaders to pursue doctoral research that directly enhances their organisation’s work or advances the cause they represent.
Eligibility
• Candidates must hold a C-suite or trustee position within a charity
• Must have been in post since September 2023
• Applicants should have a Master’s degree in any subject or a Bachelor’s degree in a research-based subject or a current MBA.
Programme Details
• PhD can be in any subject within Business or Social Sciences schools
• Research must benefit the charity or its cause
• This is a 3-5 year commitment
• Flexible study arrangements (minimum requirements):
o 1 hour per week study time (can be accumulated)
o 1 half-day per quarter on-site or remote session (in agreement with supervisor)
o Final on-site meeting for viva examination
o Additional library visits as needed
Funding
This programme is fully funded for successful applicants. Travel expenses are not covered.
